English version of the work dedicated to Weale Album and the exhibition "From Rome to Lisbon: An Album for the Magnanimous King". Designed around the so-called Weale Album - a volume consisting of a set of drawings made in Rome in the 18th century to keep the King updated on the status of the works of art he ordered -, the exhibition, installed in the Museum of São Roque of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML), focuses on the journey between Rome and Lisbon in the reign of King John V, understood as a process of cultural and artistic exchange and seeking to recognize what actually traveled : words, drawings, artwork. Two hundred years after his loss, the Weale Album returns to Lisbon thanks to its restoration, presentation and study with the sponsorship of the SCML, on a partnership with the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris, in whose library it is conserved today. The book "From Rome to Lisbon" introduces the album and the exhibit with studies authored by national and international experts, who analyze the album's background and frame it in the historical context of the Johannine orders.
