Article: Assistance to orphans in Bairro Alto: the gathering on Rua da Rosa

Founded at the beginning of the 19th century, the Recolhimento da Rua da Rosa, in Bairro Alto, Lisbon, aimed to “receive and educate mainly poor girls, and form good mothers from them”. The secular establishment was extinguished in 1941.
