Article: Assistance to Orphans in Bairro Alto: the Collection from Rua da Rosa

Founded in the early 19th century, the Recolhimento da Rua da Rosa, in Bairro Alto, Lisbon, aimed to "receive and educate mainly poor girls, and to train them to be good mothers of families." The secular institution was closed in 1941.
