Article: Nossa Senhora do Pópulo - historical reconstruction of the paintings

In the São Roque Museum's painting collection, we come across two paintings representing the same theme, that is, two versions of a representation of Our Lady with the Child, with almost identical features, although the hand of the artists is unknown. artists who performed them.
The origin of these images, clearly Byzantine, contains a fascinating history that goes back to the beginnings of the Society of Jesus.
