Theme: The 37th Season of Music in São Roque
Guest: musician Pedro Caldeira Cabral for the Podcast "O Boletim".
Born in Lisbon in 1950, Pedro Caldeira Cabral began his musical journey in a family environment, playing the recorder, classical guitar, and Portuguese cittern. He studied music theory, composition, music history, and early music with teachers such as Artur Santos and Jorge Peixinho, among others. He developed an original style for solo guitar and composed for theater, cinema, and ballet. He founded the groups La Batalla and Concerto Atlântico, dedicated to early music, and directed several festivals. An organological researcher, he published the book A Guitarra Portuguesa and conceived thematic exhibitions. With a discography of 16 CDs as a soloist, he is also noted for the artistic direction of projects such as "A Música da Lírica de Camões."

Guest: Sara Ross is the author of In Your Name and Carlos Caires composed Cantata for Dona Leonor, pieces commissioned by SCML on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the death of Queen D. Leonor, with their world premiere in the 37th Music Season at São Roque, performed by the ECCE Choir.
Sara Ross, an Azorean composer residing in Lisbon, studied at the Lisbon Superior School of Music and in the United Kingdom. The author of an eclectic body of work presented in several countries, notable pieces include the opera IN(opeRA)VEL, the ballet Algo_Ritmo, and Margarida, awarded at Operafest. She collaborates with inclusive projects and writes on commission for various ensembles.
Carlos Caires is a composer, researcher, and professor. He earned his doctorate from the University of Paris and is the author of several award-winning works presented internationally. He develops software in the field of electroacoustic music and computer-assisted composition. He lives in Lisbon and teaches at ESML.

Theme: The exhibition "Children of all... Children of whom? The exposed children of the Lisbon wheel"
Guest: Vítor Mendes, grandson of the exposed Geménia. Geménia's mother and Vítor Mendes' great-grandmother, at the time 20 years old, left her daughter in the care of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa on May 21, 1891. Geménia passed away on June 3, 1994, at the age of 103. The children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and life stories remained, which Vítor Mendes came to the Bulletin to share with Teresa Nicolau, Director of Culture of SCML.

Guest: Ana Silva Coelho has been a lawyer since 2005. She is currently the legal advisor to the Board of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa. She practices in Gaming Law and European Union Law. She is an agent of the Portuguese State, in matters of gaming, before the Court of Justice of the EU. She participated in the drafting of legislation for the gaming sector and has made presentations on the topic. She is part of European working groups, contributing to the debate and evolution of the sector. Married and mother of Luísa and Teresa, she combines her professional commitment with a sense of mission in public service, which she believes is both the legal profession and the social games of the State.

Guest: Victor Pereira holds a PhD in 20th Century History from the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (2007). A specialist in Portuguese emigration during the Estado Novo, he has also researched the April 25 Revolution. He was a university professor in France (2010-2021) and has been a principal researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History of Nova University of Lisbon since 2021, where he directs the Contemporary History Press.

Guest: Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1977, Ricardo Rodrigues graduated as a Nurse from the Higher School of Nursing of Lisbon and as an actor from the Higher School of Theater and Cinema of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon. He has worked in the field of Mental Health for Children and Adolescents in various contexts, including hospitalization, day hospital, and outpatient care. Additionally, he is the creator of theater projects aimed at different audiences, such as teachers, health professionals, senior citizens, and children and young people with mental illnesses. He is currently a lecturer at the Higher School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, director of the D. Carlos I Training Center, and a doctoral student in Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Human Motricity of the University of Lisbon.

Theme: The campaign "I will be what you give me... may it be love"
Guest: Guida Maria Alves Amorim has been a nurse for 23 years at SCML and a specialist in Mental and Psychiatric Health for 6 years. She coordinates the GPS program, which promotes lifelong literacy, in collaboration with other partners and services of SCML. In 2022, she launched the campaign “I will be what you give me... may it be love,” included in the International Month for the Prevention of Child Abuse, in partnership with CPCJ and PSP. This campaign aims to raise awareness among employees, users, and the surrounding community about the importance of preventing child abuse, as well as for its early detection and swift referral. SCML has been providing rigorous and careful assistance to children and young people in the social and health fields for centuries.

Theme: The exhibition Casar - materials from the Ephemera Archive
Guest: José Pacheco Pereira, born in Porto, is a prominent Portuguese politician and intellectual. He holds a degree in Philosophy and began his career as a teacher and media collaborator. He founded the magazine "Studies on Communism" and the Liberal Left Club. He was an ambassador to UNESCO, a deputy for the PSD, and one of the main critics of the Orthographic Agreement of 1990. He is currently a columnist and political commentator, as well as the author of several blogs. In 2005, he received the Grand Cross of the Order of Liberty. Ephemera - Cultural Association is his library and archive. With over 200,000 titles, it is one of the largest private libraries in Portugal.

Guest: Maria Isabel Cosme de Araújo was born in the DRC in 1976. She holds a degree in Social Work from the Higher Institute of Social Work of Lisbon and a Postgraduate degree in Social Gerontology. She began her professional experience as a Social Worker in a private social solidarity institution in Lisbon, taking on a new professional mission in the DRC, between 2006 and 2009, in the area of Diplomacy and Human Resources. She joined SCML in 2009 as a social worker, and from 2013 she took on the role of Director in different Social Action facilities. Since 2021, she has been responsible for the Ferreira Borges Intergenerational Center.

Guest: Eduarda Napoleão holds a degree in Plastic Arts - Painting from the School of Fine Arts of Lisbon and a postgraduate degree in Museology and Heritage from the Nova University of Lisbon. She was a City Councilor for the Municipality of Lisbon, Vice-President of the Portuguese Institute of Architectural and Archaeological Heritage, Vice-President of the World Monuments Fund, a member of the Board of Directors of the Ricardo do Espírito Santo Silva Foundation, and Executive Director of the Make-A-Wish® Foundation Portugal. She has been at SCML since 2013, where she has performed functions related to the institution's heritage, first in the Real Estate Management and Heritage Department, of which she was Deputy Director, and currently at Casa Ásia - Francisco Capelo Collection, a museum she has coordinated since 2023.

Theme: The 120th anniversary of the Museum of São Roque
Guest: João Miguel Ferreira Antunes Simões holds a PhD in Art History from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon, where he presented the thesis "Staircases of Apparatus at the Court of Lisbon in the 18th Century: manifestations of power and wealth in the Ancien Régime. The Case of the Royal Building of Mafra." He was, between 2000 and 2003, a historian for the Municipality of Borba. Between 2003 and 2018, he collaborated with various municipalities and project offices in Alentejo, Algarve, and Lisbon. Since 2008, he has been a Senior Technician at the Museum of São Roque, where he studies the artistic and architectural collection of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa.

Guest: Helena Alexandra Mantas holds a degree (Faculty of Arts of Coimbra, 1997), a master's (Faculty of Arts of Lisbon, 2002), and a PhD (Faculty of Arts of Coimbra, 2013) in Art History and a postgraduate degree in Museology (University of Évora, 2002). She is a Senior Technician in Art History at the Museum of São Roque, a place she recently returned to after directing the Public and Cultural Development Service of the Culture Directorate of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa for 12 years, where she was responsible for the cultural and educational programming of the Museum of São Roque, Library, Historical Archive, and other heritage spaces of the institution. At the Museum of São Roque, she carries out research, inventorying, exhibitions, among other functions. She has been a higher education lecturer for 25 years, currently in the Plastic Arts degree at the Universidade Lusófona, where she teaches Art History and Visual Culture.

Guest: Maria João Ferreira has been a senior technician at the Museum of São Roque since 2019. She holds a degree in conservation and restoration from the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, a degree in Portuguese Decorative Arts from the Higher School of Decorative Arts of FRESS, a master's in Art History from the Lusíada University of Lisbon, and a PhD in Portuguese Art History from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto. She is a researcher at CHAM - Center for Humanities of NOVA FCSH-UAc and a member of CIETA - Centre d'Étude des Textiles Anciens. She has focused her attention on textiles, in which she has presented conferences and publications.

Guest: Sílvia Linhares Pereira, graduated in Conservation and Restoration from the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar and Master in Art, Heritage and Restoration Theory from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon. Between 2004 and 2006, she collaborated at the Grão Vasco Museum, and in 2006 she completed a three-month internship under a scholarship from the Fundação Oriente at the Central Conservation Section of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Since that same year, she has been a Senior Technician at the Museum of São Roque, carrying out preventive conservation actions.

She began her career at SCML in September 2011 as a nurse at the ERPI Mitra, later serving as a nurse at the Madre Teresa de Calcutá Residence of the Therapeutic Monitoring Unit. In 2016, she took on the role of director of the Santa Rita de Cássia Residence of the UAT until February 2024, when she began directing the ERPI Mitra of the Support and Promotion Unit for Active Aging.

Guest: Carlos Augusto Batista Anjos Teixeira was born in Évora in 1961. He took the Aircraft Material Mechanic Course in the Portuguese Air Force, having worked in military and civil aviation between 1979 and 1983. He has been working at the Hospital de Sant’Ana since 1984, initially as a mechanical locksmith. In 1987 he took on the role of clinical photographer and since 2004 he has been responsible for the Innovation and Knowledge Center of HOSA.

Guest: Pedro Neves is a principal of the Orquestra Clássica de Espinho, a professor at the National Superior Academy of Orchestra, and a doctoral student at the University of Évora. In 2006 and 2008, he was the assistant conductor to conductor Michael Zilm. He was the Principal Conductor of the Algarve Orchestra, Guest Conductor of the Gulbenkian Orchestra, and is a regular guest of the main Portuguese orchestras. He has also conducted the Joensuu City Orchestra (Finland) and the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra (Brazil). He is the founder of the Camerata Alma Mater, which is dedicated to the interpretation of the repertoire for string orchestra.
