In July 2010, the renovation of the Oriental Art Core of the Museum of São Roque was presented to the public, specifically the showcase of India (fig.2). This restructuring was due to the integration of important pieces into the collection of the Museum of São Roque, resulting from a generous donation received by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisbon, as well as recent legacies and acquisitions promoted by the Institution, aimed at enriching its collection with pieces that are intrinsically related to the museological discourse. It is worth noting that this collection primarily comes from donations that the institution has received over more than 500 years of history.
