The dissemination of new knowledge through the book in the 18th century, in a playful and appealing way, had the contribution of a passionate botanist,
the Franciscan Friar Veloso. This article deals with one of these publications: Passatempo Arithmetico, an educational game designed to teach the four operations and some conversion tables.
