Technical Notebooks 05 - Longevity and Neurosciences

Longevity and Neurosciences is presented as the theme of the 5th volume of the Technical Notebooks of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Lisbon. 
"Accompanying the increase in life expectancy, neurodegenerative diseases have been experiencing significant growth. Incurable and highly debilitating, the impact of these pathologies is far from being limited to Health, contaminating society as a whole."
At the same time, it is possible to recognize the present moment as one of the most extraordinary in terms of neuroscientific advances. Due to their importance, with this Technical Notebook, Santa Casa aims to contribute further to the sharing of new lines of research and the new and increasingly effective therapeutic proposals that result from them. In addition to the medical-scientific approaches, reflections on legal realities and the ethical-philosophical questions arising from the issues associated with longevity or the practice of medicine itself are also included.
