Technical Notebooks 06 - Children's Oral Health

Child Oral Health is the theme of the sixth volume of the Technical Notebooks of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa.

Considering the importance of this area of health – and especially its relevance in terms of preventive care for younger populations – the published articles result from research work developed by the professionals of SOL – Pediatric Dentistry Service of Lisbon, created in 2019 by Santa Casa.

The articles now published cover topics that include clarifying the criteria for assessing the need for orthodontic treatment, the importance of family in children's oral health, the impact of music on reducing children's anxiety in oral health contexts, and the relevance of the oral health professional in diagnosing and signaling abused and neglected children. In line with the current pandemic context, the best protocols to follow in pediatric dentistry are also presented.
