The valuable cultural heritage of Misericórdia of Lisbon and the institution's ongoing efforts to ensure its maximum preservation are the theme of the eighth volume of the Technical Notebooks of Santa Casa. Experts speak to reveal the conservation and restoration methods and techniques applied to a unique collection. It contains works as diverse as the "magnificent" collection of textiles in the Chapel of Saint John the Baptist, the reliquary busts in the Church and Museum of Saint Roch (Igreja e Museu de São Roque), the tile panels in the antechamber of the Saint Roch sacristy and even the unique set of exposed signs. Not forgetting the Compromisso da Confraria da Misericórdia (Commitment of the Brotherhood of Misericórdia), the founding document of this brotherhood, which still today inspires all the actions of Santa Casa.
