Technical Notebooks 08 - Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage

The valuable cultural heritage of the Misericórdia de Lisboa and the continued effort of the institution towards its maximum preservation constitute the theme of the eighth volume of the Technical Notebooks of the Santa Casa.

"Giving the floor to the specialists, the methods and techniques of conservation and restoration applied to a unique collection are revealed. It contains works as diverse as the 'magnificent' collection of textiles from the Chapel of Saint John the Baptist to the reliquary busts of the Church and the Museum of Saint Roch, passing through the tile panels of the anteroom of the sacristy of Saint Roch, or even the unique set of exposed signs. Not to forget the Commitment of the Brotherhood of Mercy, the founding document of this Brotherhood that still inspires all the actions of the Holy House today."
