The catalogue of the temporary exhibition "Seeing all things new: From the conversion to the canonisation of Ignatius of Loyola", reflects on the conversion process of Ignatius of Loyola and seeks, from a wide perspective, to understand how the construction of the iconography and the celebrations of his canonisation were important for the dissemination of the story of the life and image of the main founder of the Society of Jesus. With the scientific coordination of António Júlio Trigueiros, S.J. and Maria João Pereira Coutinho, this edition provides new insights into the history of the founder of the Society of Jesus. The four texts signed by António Júlio Trigueiros, S.J., José Alberto Gomes Machado, António Camões Gouveia and Maria João Pereira Coutinho reflect on the thematic axes of this exhibition that gathers around 40 works, carefully selected and coming from public and private, national and foreign historical collections.
With scientific coordination by António Júlio Trigueiros, S.J., and Maria João Pereira Coutinho, this edition reveals new aspects of the history of the founder of the Society of Jesus.
