Catálogo das obras impressas nos séculos XV e XVI : a colecção da Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa
Exhaustive bibliographic collection and detailed cataloging of the 15th and 16th century documentary and bibliographic collection of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa. Identification and cataloging of the bibliographic heritage of the secular institution of the capital, comprising a total of 138 printed works, originating from the funds of the Misericórdia de Lisboa, the Convent of S. Pedro de Alcântara and the grandiose bookstore of the Palácio Marquês de Alegrete, in Lumiar heath. This bibliographic inventory includes several books and rare editions that came into the possession of Santa Casa through inheritances, legacies and donations, but also thanks to acquisitions and incorporations of dispersed works. Júlio Caio Velloso presents the reader with the “rich and voluminous collection of Portuguese and foreign typography” that make up the collection of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, copies that “represent true gems of the best moments of the Renaissance press”. It is a second edition, revised and added, and enriched with the incorporation of new indexes and a series of significant prints, reproduced in color.
