The book Cold Sweat — title of the 1st Biennial of Contemporary Jewelry of Lisbon —, with editorial coordination by Cristina Filipe, brings together the catalog of the exhibition of the same name and the articles from the colloquia "Body Fear Protection" and "Precious Crown", as well as from the "Closing", which took place during the Biennial. The visual narrative of about two hundred and twenty contemporary works by seventy-two international artists from different disciplines — mostly jewelry, but also photography, sculpture, design, installation, film, and performance — presented in situ during the exhibition at the Gallery, Church, and Museum of São Roque and at the Pharmacy Museum, in close dialogue with the respective collections and with the holdings of the Historical Archive of SCML and Casa Ásia, Collection Francisco Capelo, culminates in a unique set of thirteen academic texts by researchers from various disciplines — art and design history, philosophy, theology, gemology, anthropology — whose multiplicity of discourses invites the reader to reflect on contemporary artistic production around issues related to the pandemic and post-pandemic period we are going through. PIN invited Christoph Zellweger to develop, for this book, a limited edition — six numbered copies — of a vial/pendant made exclusively for the Biennial. The jewelry Cold Sweat encapsulates the spirit of the Biennial in a single object and its image is the cover of this book.
