The Portuguese Misericórdias, aware of the importance and need to identify, preserve, enhance and make available their vast heritage, have published works and studies that allow a greater knowledge of History, perpetuating the memory and identity of these great Portuguese institutions. This Catalog that accompanies the Bibliographic Exhibition The presence of the Misericórdias in the Santa Casa Library facilitates and promotes access to available information on the history and heritage of these Institutions, which resulted from the sharing of bibliographic resources between the Misericórdia de Lisboa and other Santas Casas, with the main objective of contributing to the dissemination of this appreciable collection of 160 bibliographical references related to these Institutions of good doing.
