Thematic Visit: Hinduism: History and Rituals in Asia

One of the most practiced religions in Asia is Hinduism, a religion with a rich history and many associated symbols and rituals. In this visit, we will learn about these stories and the deities widely practiced in Hinduism, as well as some of the rituals, many of which are still practiced today.

Thematic Visit: “Shintoism: Animals and Nature in Japanese Culture”

One of the most important religions in Japan is Shintoism. A religion that demonstrates a strong connection between humans and nature, which is still well established in Japanese culture today. Throughout this activity, we will explore pieces where it is possible to observe this connection to nature, as well as some of the symbols associated with certain represented animals.

Thematic Visit: “Buddhism: Schools and Practices in Asia”

In Asian culture, there are several schools of Buddhism, each with its own orientations and practices. In this visit, we will explore some of these schools as well as how many of the practices are carried out in the collections of the various countries represented at Casa Ásia – Francisco Capelo Collection.
