This master's thesis, presented in April 2017 and defended in June 2018, results from research based on a broad analysis of normative, doctrinal, and jurisprudential texts, associated with the author's journey, which alternates between a theoretical and practical approach. The research was supported by an extensive bibliography, carefully selected to focus on the most relevant sources to the study object.
The defense of the thesis in June 2018 marked an important moment, but it did not conclude the investigative process. Despite some changes in the landscape, such as the end of the Joker game exploitation and the introduction of Eurodreams, the relevance and timeliness of this research remain unchanged.
It is also important to mention that the gaming sector is in constant evolution, with new themes and issues continuously emerging. Discussions about the different aspects of this universe are multiplying, reflecting the complexity and dynamism of the sector. Therefore, this work does not exhaust the necessary reflections on the topic; rather, it seeks to be another contribution to a debate that extends beyond these pages.
We hope that this work is recognized by the reader as a conscious effort of updating and improvement, reflecting the changes that have occurred in the gaming sector.
