Drawing the East was learning to see the world from another angle. In this illustrated conversation, Luís Simões recounts the years he spent in Asia - from Hong Kong to India, from Thailand to the Philippines to his Muslim wedding in Indonesia, through the illustrations he created in his sketchbooks. A visual journey that explores his passion for the East, the drawings and experiences that marked him the most, and how this part of the world transformed him forever. The lecture is accompanied by the projection of the original sketchbooks and illustrations made on site.

He traveled through India on a Vespa, documented the protests in Hong Kong, and fell in love in Indonesia. The World Sketching Tour project, which has been going for over ten years, has taken him to five continents. He published two books — World Sketching Tour Europe and Bike & Sketch Portugal.
