The manual of Portuguese as a Non-Native Language – Floor Staff is intended for adult migrant or refugee citizens from countries on other continents who are attending the Inclusion course – Floor Staff.

The curriculum organization of the Inclusion course – Floor Staff aims to promote the development of Portuguese language skills in close connection with the development of professional skills in the hospitality sector to enhance the employability of these citizens and strengthen their social and cultural integration.

In this way, the manual is designed to guide the process of building explicit and conscious grammatical representations and the acquisition of vocabulary and expressions from everyday life and the professional area of Floor Staff in an integrated manner. It aims to provide a working tool that allows the learner to communicate at a basic level in various situations (everyday life, training, and work), developing skills in listening comprehension, oral production, oral interaction, reading comprehension, and writing.

The manual is divided into four parts: exercises, common vocabulary, grammatical appendix, and specific vocabulary. The contents and organization make the manual a guiding and, at the same time, versatile instrument. The exercises are mainly based on listening, repetition, and pair practice and can be enriched with contributions from everyone. The resources serve as a starting point for creating new exercises according to the needs of the learners.
