--Over three years, the Social Service team at the Alcoitão Rehabilitation Medicine Center conducted research aimed at understanding how families reorganize after the onset of disability, whether congenital or acquired. This observation focused on the study of 46 families with a member with a disability, aged between zero and 65 years, analyzing various dimensions of the family and social sphere: family structure, attitudes towards disability, organization of daily domestic life, balancing professional activity with family life, leisure, support social networks, and future expectations.
