O Sábio da Torre: Roteiro do Museu de São Roque
“A long, long time ago, priests from Rome arrived in Lisbon, the Jesuits, who decided to build this church where we live”. This is how the comic strip story of the Church and Museum of São Roque begins, adventures and secrets told by a wise old man who lives in the tower of the Church of São Roque to the five birds he has as companions: an owl, a crow, a bird. from-paradise, a dove and a pelican. It is these birds that lead young readers through the mysteries and treasures kept in the Church and Museum of São Roque da Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa. Through a set of cards with images of specimens from the museum's collections of painting, sculpture, jewelery or textiles, young readers are invited to discover, in a clear and fun way, twelve pieces from the museum's collection, chosen for their relevance. The description of the pieces is accompanied by playful-didactic games that aim to stimulate curiosity and arouse children's interest in the objects analyzed. For readers between the ages of six and 12.
