Inventory and cataloging of the jewelery and illuminated collections that make up the collection of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, a valuable collection comprising about 300 works of art illustrated in this volume. With regard to the jewelery collection, most of them are cult pieces or image ornaments, as attested by a countless number of crowns and splendours, as well as a diverse set of liturgical objects, originating either from the reserve or the permanent exhibition of the Museum of S. Roque, as well as the Church of S. Roque, and also a group of existing works in the chapel of the Hospital Ortopédico de Sant'Ana, in Parede. As for the collection of illuminations, the pages of this publication reveal a small but precious collection of illuminated books and documents that, although few in number, are representative of European illuminated art over four centuries, from the mid-1500s to the early 1900s. 20th century. An edition published on the occasion of the V Centenary of the Foundation of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa.
