Management reference for development and proximity intervention units (UDIP)

The process of reorganizing the social action of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, initiated in 2013, aimed at a closer, integrated, and interdisciplinary intervention in the city, contributing to the change in the perception of problems and the way to confront them. The focus was on the use of the cross-cutting and complementary nature of various services to resolve complex situations. The Management Reference for Development and Proximity Intervention Units (UDIP) offers an overview of this form of intervention based on empowering the individual, on one hand, and on collaborative methodologies of integrated governance, on the other. A useful tool in a moment of paradigm transition, it allows for the coordinated action of the directors of the UDIP in an integrated, innovative manner, open to internal and external collaboration, in a true culture of networking. This book is part of the Social Action Workbook Collection, an editorial line dedicated to sharing knowledge acquired and consolidated through practice, with the awareness, however, that this knowledge is always under continuous construction and improvement.
