Meditation on the biblical texts of the Gospel according to Saint Luke, reflection by Delmira Maçãs, benefactor of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, comments written in the form of a dialogue with the sacred text. In this volume of the collection entitled Dialogues with the Gospels, Delmira Maçãs shares with readers a set of reflections that resulted from reading the Gospel of Saint Luke, whom Dante calls “the evangelist of the mercy of Christ”, with the objective that these can help “to be inspired also by Sacred Scripture”, as explained in the preliminary note to the present work. These writings reveal Delmira Maçãs, a complex and contradictory personality who found her most stimulating confidant in the white of the pages. It was on paper that she meticulously deposited the daily record of life, but also the meditations of a religious nature, deep reflection scattered in countless texts that she methodically kept throughout her life. Delmira Maçãs' books were published by Santa Casa in 2009, in fulfillment of the testamentary mandate stipulated by the benefactor to the Misericórdia de Lisboa, an institution she chose as her heir: the publication of her personal writings, of an autobiographical nature, but also of a religious and literary. It is a set of 16 volumes, organized into three collections: Biographical Notes – Steps to Death, Dialogue with the Gospels and Miscellaneous.
